Welcome

MJW Ceramics was born from my passion to create utilitarian objects, with an ethereal flair, to elevate your daily rituals. Each piece showcases clean form and intricate, yet purposeful, decoration. My inspiration comes from a multitude of cultural and historical art movements and techniques, which I enjoy combining to evoke a sense of both wonder and unity for the viewer.

My work is all handmade from strong, durable porcelain and food safe glazes, high fired in an electric/oxidation kiln to cone 10/2,345 degrees Fahrenheit. My work is microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe, with the exception of pieces containing gold luster. I use a variety of techniques including wheel-throwing, hand-building, and slip-trailing.

There is immeasurable value in using hand-made objects in daily life — especially objects as essential as tableware, made from material as humble as clay. My hope is for my pottery to bring joy and inspiration to those who use it.
